Terminology Used:
- HTML – HyperTextMarkupLanguage (HTML) is the main markup language for web pages. HTML elements are the basic building-blocks of webpages.
- JQuery - A fast, concise, library that simplifies how to traverse HTML documents, handle events, perform animations, and add AJAX.
- AJAX - Ajax, short for asynchronous JavaScript and XML, allows websites to retrieve data from the server asynchronously behind the scenes, without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page.
- CSS – Cascading Style Sheets; it is a style sheet language used to describe the presentation semantics (the look and formatting) of a document written in a markup language.
- PHP - is a general-purpose server-side scripting language originally designed for Web development to produce dynamic Web pages. It allos the web browser to communicate with a database and the database with the web server.
- SQL - Structured Query Language (SQL) is a specialized language for updating, deleting, and requesting information from databases.
- CMS – Content Management System; quite literally, it allows you to control and manage the content within your web site – without technical training (WordPress, Joomla and Custom CMS can all be used as a Content Management System).
- Photohop - Photoshop is the leading digital image editing application for the Internet, print, and other new media disciplines. It is used to enhance and edit pictures.
- Fireworks - Adobe Fireworks is used to design and rapidly prototype website, mobile, and application interfaces and to create and optimize screen graphics for the web quickly and with precision.
- Illustrator - Adobe Illustrator lets you create graphics and type in vector format. Vector graphics are resolution independent, which means you can resize a graphic from a business card to a billboard and it will maintain its high quality.
